Carterhaugh Travel Posters

These are travel posters for a fictional place called Carterhaugh in the Scottish folktale The Young Tamlane. I was unfamiliar with illustrating but tried to create a distinct and simple visual style for them, which was somewhat inspired by some vintage travel posters which used limited colors and no blending between them to create an image that has a mosaic sort of style. The midnight poster uses an analogous color scheme and the sunset poster uses a triad. I think the pencil sketches came out well, but the colored versions were rushed and I didn't have appropriate digital art tools at the time. I would redo the digital painting on these. There were also many concept sketches, but most of them were scrapped for looking more like book covers than travel posters. I wanted the focus to be on the location rather than the story events.
